Delete your account

You can close your Academy account and have your personal information erased at any time. This page sets out how to ask, what gets deleted, and what we are obliged to keep.

How to request deletion

  1. Send an email from the address your Academy account uses, so we can confirm the request came from you.
  2. Write Delete my account in the subject line, and include your full name as it appears on your account.
  3. Send it to nik@nikolasmichael.co.za. We reply to confirm, then erase the account. Requests are completed within 30 days, and usually within a few working days.

Cancelling your membership is not the same as deleting your account. If you stop paying, your account stays open and your progress is kept so you can come back. Deletion is permanent and has to be asked for separately.

What is deleted

  • Your name, email address and sign-in credentials
  • Every portfolio photograph you uploaded, removed from storage
  • Your lesson progress and the feedback written on your work
  • Sign-in records and error logs tied to your account

Once erased, none of it can be recovered, and your certificate can no longer be reissued.

What we have to keep, and for how long

  • Payment records — 5 years. Required by South African tax law. These hold amounts and dates only, never card details, which never reach us.
  • Certificate record — indefinitely. So a certificate issued in your name can still be verified by an employer. Tell us in your email if you want this removed too, and we will erase it.
